Launch new mobile technology platform to brand category and generate sales

ISSUE

theCOMMSapp, a family of custom app building solutions was about to launch its first product, theIRapp®, a native app platform available for publicly traded companies to push important company information and communicate directly with investors via their mobile device. theIRapp had an opportunity to achieve a first-to-market status as the only native app solution serving this market. It needed to put a plan in place to drive sales and educate companies on the importance of mobile technology to their IR communications efforts.

Launch new technology, educate and generate sales.

IDEA

KCSA developed an integrated communications strategy focused on education, lead generation and thought leadership. The program included distributing a monthly newsletter, attending, exhibiting and speaking at major industry conferences, traditional media relations, a search engine optimization and targeted advertising campaign as well a regular email marketing campaign. In addition, a social media presence was developed on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube to increase thought leadership and elevate the brand. KCSA differentiated theIRapp product from competitors by emphasizing the company’s deep roots in the investor relations and communications industry. These were IR experts bringing a much needed mobile solution to the industry, not a tech company simply trying to capitalize on a niche industry.

IMPACT

KCSA secured placements in numerous top-tier and trade publications and broadcast media including Investors Business Daily, IR Magazine, Market Wired, The Huffington Post and CNBC among others. As a result, theCOMMSapp founder, Jeff Corbin is regularly sought out by the media to discuss mobile strategies and trends. The SEO program continues to help garner many sales leads as relevant keywords related to the app appear in the top ten results of Google.

In addition, theCOMMSapp social media presence has grown dramatically and continues to be integral to the company’s sales efforts. LinkedIn groups created by the Company gained traction quickly, with almost 400 investor relations and communications professionals joining within the first week. Today companies of all market capitalizations and industries subscribe to theIRapp and its other products including Marathon Oil, Colgate-Palmolive, Campbell’s Soup and Teva Pharmaceuticals.
